The 3rd Annual Boynton Beach MLK Celebration of Unity

Boynton Beach, FL (December 29, 2017)– On Saturday, January 6, 2018, the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) will host the 3rd Annual MLK Celebration of Unity. The free event will take place between the hours of 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm, in eastern Boynton Beach at the Carolyn Sims Center, which is located at 225 NW 12th Court.

The event which celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., will feature live music from the Valerie Tyson Band and Artikal Sound System.  as well as guest speakers. There will be a variety of free children’s activities such as face painting, balloon artistry, glitter tattoos, bounce house activities, and a giant inflatable obstacle course. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.

Vendor space is still available and the application will be accepted through January 2, 2017. Vendors and community organizations that are interested in participating at the event should call (561) 600-9093 or email HussainA@bbfl.us for information.

About the Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency

The Boynton Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is governed by the CRA “Board” consisting of five elected officials. The CRA is responsible for developing and implementing the Community Redevelopment Plans that address the unique needs of the targeted area. The plan includes the overall goals for redevelopment in the area, as well as identifying the types of projects planned for the area. Examples of projects include: streetscapes, redevelopment incentives for things such as façade improvements and structural improvements; infill housing; downtown and waterfront revitalization. The redevelopment plan is a living document that can be updated to meet the changing needs within the Community Redevelopment Area.
