The South Florida Fair offers a plethora of fun-filled activities. From animals to ice skating, rides and games, agriculture and exhibits, there is something for everyone! But did you see the pirates at the fair this year?
In the Palm Beach International Airport lounge the pirates hid their plunder. Representing the City of Boynton Beach, the pirates gave out information and prizes to all that entered. These scoundrels had the public spin a wheel of fate to be awarded with free pillage from Boynton Beach. The pirates even made an appearance at the Mayor’s Parade! On January 17th the pirates blazed a trail, escorting Mayor Jerry Taylor down the midway.
If you missed all of these swashbuckling events, don’t fret! The 5th Annual Boynton Beach Haunted Pirate Festival & Mermaid Splash is just around the corner! This year, Pirate Fest will open on Friday, October 21st with a free concert. On October 22nd and 23rd East Ocean Avenue will be transformed into Hobb’s Cove, a bustling old world port brimming with pirate superstitions of the ship wrecks off the coast of Boynton Beach and Forbidden Island, a mysterious oasis where the sirens of the sea lure you into the depths with their song.
